Course Description:
-
Exams and Quizzes:
Midterms (3): 10 problems to be solved in 1 hour .
Final: The final exam will be cumulative based on material from
the entire course.
Homework: This will be assigned and collected, mostly for time-consuming
problems.
Quizes: There could be several short quizes ( one-two "simple"
questions five-ten minutes prior to the end of lecture or before the lab
starts). Quiz dates will not be announced in advance.

Laboratory
Expeiments are described in the CHE301 Laboratory Manual. The particular
experiments (each 5% of total grade) to be done and the schedule will be
given by the instructor in the laboratory. Reports should be in a digital format submitted via dropbox only
Please turn in reports as
soon as possible after completing an experiment (no later then one week after the experiment is done).
You may see deadlines
for lab reports in the laboratory schedule page. Absolutely no late submissions!
-
Grading
The lecture part of the grade will be computed based on 10% for
each mid-term exam, 20 % for homework (all homework assignments), and 10% for the final exam.
The lowest mid-term exam grade will be dropped. Since the lowest grade of each student
will be dropped, there will be no makeup exams. The same pattern will be
used for homework.
The final exam will be cumulative, based on material
from the entire semester.
The course grade will be determined by addition of lab and lecture
points (100% total).
Grading scale A:85% B: 75% C:65% D: 55%
